An increase occurs in 42.8% of the animals after calving. All cows with elevated GOT activity also had increased haptoglobin levels, and one cow additionally showed a high NEFA concentration. Since GGT activity is normal in these animals, when analysing the causes of elevated GOT activity, the following should be considered: excessive lipomobilisation (overconditioning before calving, insufficient TMR intake after calving) and the resulting liver load, or other conditions causing the release of GOT from muscle tissue, e.g., retained placenta and/or metritis (muscle tissue shows very high GOT activity).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1763043051266{padding-top: 100px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;}” offset=”vc_hidden-sm vc_hidden-xs”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1764241156037{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}” el_class=”accent-text-color”]

Veterinary Diagnostics

made simple

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”478648″ img_size=”130×120″ alignment=”center” css_animation=”top-to-bottom” css=”.vc_custom_1763043206895{margin-bottom: 0px !important;border-top-width: 20px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1763043108982{padding-top: 75px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;}” offset=”vc_hidden-lg vc_hidden-md”][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”accent-text-color”]

Veterinary Diagnostics

made simple

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”478648″ img_size=”130×120″ alignment=”center” css=”.vc_custom_1734266787739{margin-bottom: 0px !important;border-top-width: 20px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row el_class=”en-st-pt”][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1764242483227{padding-top: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_text css=””] Metabolic monitoring in a dairy cow herd [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”527507″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1764241002817{margin-top: 50px !important;margin-bottom: 80px !important;}”] The examination makes it possible to assess the herd’s level of risk for postpartum diseases resulting from improper preparation of cows for calving.
