Genetic screening for dogs and cats

Our genetic screening offers a comprehensive analysis for dogs and cats. More than 200 genetic diseases are examined to determine your pet’s carrier status. A complete list of all analyzed genetic conditions can be found in our customer portal under the “Documents” section.

In addition, the screening includes the determination of coat color and characteristic traits, which can be helpful for breed identification and breeding planning. Furthermore, we perform DNA profiling standardized according to the guidelines of the International Society of Animal Genetics (ISAG) 2020. This provides a reliable identification of your pet, valuable for breeding, loss or theft protection, and securing genetic heritage.

Dog breed identification

Our breed identification provides a precise determination of your patient’s dog breed. Additionally, we check the carrier status for MDR1 drug sensitivity, a genetic predisposition that affects the reaction to certain medications. A complete list of the breeds that can be analyzed is available in our customer portal under “Documents.”

For both tests, you only need 1 ml of EDTA blood.
